Using iTunes:
Among its many utilities, iTunes also gives the option to sync iPhone content with a Google account. With the method described below, you can easily transfer your iPhone contacts to the SGSII TV. The prerequisites include a computer with Internet access and iTunes installed.
- Launch iTunes on your PC
- Using the proprietary USB cable, connect your iPhone to the computer
- After it connects, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it
- Go to the "Info" tab
- Place a checkmark next to "Sync Contacts With"
- From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
- Enter your Google account's log in details. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" and select an account that you've added previously
- Click "Apply" to begin the syncing process
- On your Samsung device, add the same Google account as the one used in iTunes. Go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
- Set the account so that it syncs contacts with your SGS II TV
Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:
Apple's iCloud backup service gives users the possibility to export iPhone contacts, provided that you've backed up the contacts before. For this method you need access to a computer with an active Internet connection.
- Open your computer's Internet browser and visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account, and go to the contacts list
- From the list, select the contacts that you wish to export
- Once selected, click the icon depicting a cog wheel, located in the lower-left side of the screen
- Select "Export vCard" and your computer will download a VCF file
- To import the contacts to the Galaxy SII TV, you can either import the vCard file in "Google Contacts", or skip this step and perform the next one instead:
- Connect the Samsung smartphone to your PC via USB, and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the "People" app, tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD" > choose an account and the vCard file if necessary
Using the "My Contacts Backup" App:
Assuming that you don't have access to a PC, you can still transfer your contacts with the help of applications, such as "My Contacts Backup". The app provides an easy method of sharing via email.
- Download "My Contacts Backup" from the App Store, on your iPhone
- Open the application and tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file containing your contacts
- After the backup file is complete, tap "Email" and attach the file to a new email
- Send the email to your own Gmail address
- On the Galaxy S II TV, open the email and download the VCF file attachment
- Import the file's contents using the "People" application and the "Import / Export" function
Using the "Bump" Application:
Bump is a pretty smart application that can transfer contacts between smartphones via cloud. As such, this method does not require you to have access to a computer, email addresses, Bluetooth or NFC connectivity. You are however, required to have Internet access on both smartphones.
- Visit the Play Store on the Samsung device and install "Bump"
- Download the same app on the iPhone, from the App Store
- Open the application on both devices. If prompted, allow permissions
- On the iPhone, access the contacts section and select the contacts that you want to share
- When the "Bump now!" message appears, you are ready to begin the transfer
- Gently bump the two smartphones together. A "Connect" button should appear on both smartphones' display
- Tap "Connect" and your iPhone contacts will be shared with your Samsung device through cloud
