Wiping the Cache Partition:

In case your smartphone is not working properly, then you might be able and solve these issues by clearing the cache partition. Generally, this would have similar results to factory resetting your smartphone, but unlike applying a master reset, clearing the cache will not delete personal data stored on your smartphone's internal storage. To clear the cache:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" buttons simultaneously
  3. Release the "Power" button as soon as the phone vibrates, but continue pressing "Home" and "Volume up"
  4. After the "Android System Recovery" screen pops-up, release all the hardware buttons
  5. Press "Volume down" in order to highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press the "Power" button to select the highlighted option. Your device will now start clearing the cache

NOTE: If clearing the cache did not help, you can apply a factory reset on your device. To learn how you can master reset your Galaxy S II TV, visit this thread for a full guide.

Entering Safe Mode:

Assuming that you've installed a third party application that causes issues on your device and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to fix this problem by entering safe mode and removing the app from there. In safe mode, all 3rd party apps are disabled. To enable safe mode:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Power" button
  3. When the "Samsung" splash screen appears, release the "Power" button, and immediately press and hold "Volume down" instead
  4. Keep holding the volume key until the smartphone reboots completely
  5. A "Safe mode" sticker should be seen in the bottom-left corner of the screen

To uninstall a third party app from safe mode:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "More" tab
  4. Tap "Application manager" and swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
  5. Select the desired app, tap "Uninstall" and confirm by pressing "OK"
  6. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold the "Power" button and tap "Restart". Your device will reboot in normal mode
