Audio File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files (Ringtones) from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your Ace 3 and computer via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoRun window
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on the PC's HDD
- Copy the audio files and paste them on the phone's storage
- After the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Audio Files (Ringtones) from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first two steps if you already have Kies installed on your Mac.
- On your computer, visit SAMSUNG KIES and click "Download for Mac OS"
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies
- Using the USB cable, connect your Ace 3 to your Mac
- From the phone's home screen, swipe the "status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory"
- In Kies, navigate to the location where you want to transfer the audio files
- On the computer, locate the desired audio files and drag > drop them into Kies
- After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone
Managing the Ringtone and Notification List
Adding Audio Files in the Ringtone List:
- Press "Menu" from the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and select the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
- Select "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
- Tap "Just once" or "Always"
- Lastly, select the desired sound file and press "OK"
Adding Sound Files to the Notification List:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Open "My files" and tap "All files"
- Navigate to the desired audio files
- Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
- Choose "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
- Tap "Paste here"
Setting Custom Ringtones and Notification Sounds
Changing the Ringtone of All Calls:
- Press the "Menu" key while on a home screen
- Tap "Settings" and open the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select the desired ringtone and press "OK"
Changing a Specific Contact's Ringtone:
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Select the desired contact
- Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil and tap "Ringtone"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
- Tap "Save"
Changing the Notification Sound:
- Press "Menu" from a home screen
- Tap "Settings" > "My device"
- Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
- Select the desired notification sound and tap "OK"
