Restoring Applications:

  1. Log in to your Google account, if needed
  2. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "Settings" and go to the "Accounts" tab
  4. Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
  5. Press the "Back" button
  6. Tap "Backup and reset"
  7. Mark / unmark the check boxes associated with "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Contact Restore

Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Accounts"
  3. Select "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account you've used to create your backup
  4. Tap the "email address" located at the top of the screen
  5. Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If the box is already checked, tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. From the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
  2. Access the "Contacts" tab
  3. Press the "Menu" key and select "Import / Export"
  4. Tap "Import from SD card" and select an account
  5. Tap "Import vCard file" > "OK"
  6. Select the backup VCF file, and tap "OK" to load it

Media File Restore

Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
  2. Tap "My files" > "All files" > "SD card"
  3. Navigate to where the files are backed up on your SD card
  4. Tap and hold the desired file, and tap "Move"
  5. The device will show the available memory locations. To move the files in a different location, tap "Create new" or the folder name
  6. Tap "Move here"

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your Galaxy Star Pro to your computer
  2. On the smartphone, swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "Media device" check box
  4. In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the media files are backed up on your computer
  6. Copy the desired files from your PC, and paste them on your phone's storage. NOTE: the internal memory is identified by the "Phone" icon, whereas the "Card" icon depicts the external memory
  7. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC

Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your computer and smartphone
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down on your smartphone and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "Media device" check box
  4. Launch Kies on the Mac
  5. Inside Kies, access the "Back up / restore" tab
  6. Click the "Restore" tab
  7. Mark the check box(es) associated with "Photo", "Music" and / or any other types of files that you need to back up. Alternatively, click "Select all items"
  8. Click "Restore" and follow any additional steps if necessary
  9. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone
