File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your K Zoom and computer via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down on the smartphone, and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "Media device" check box
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the audio files are located on the computer
- Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's storage
- Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: follow the first 2 steps only if you don't have Samsung Kies installed on the Mac computer
- Launch the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation
- Connect the K Zoom to the Mac via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "media device" check box
- On the computer, launch Kies
- From Kies, click the "Folder" icon associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory"
- On the Mac, navigate to where the desired audio files are stored on the computer
- Drag the audio files and drop them into Kies
- Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
Adding Audio Files to Use as Ringtones and Notification Sounds
Adding Sound Files to the Ringtone List:
- Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Tap "Add" and select "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
- Tap "Always" or "just once"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
Adding Sound Files to the Notification List:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on a home screen
- Tap "My files" > "All files"
- Navigate to the recently transferred sound files
- Tap and hold the desired file and select "Copy"
- Select "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
- Tap "Paste here"
Setting Custom Ringtones and Notification Sounds
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select the desired ringtone and tap "OK"
Changing the Ringtone for a Specific Contact:
NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the SIM card or the phone's internal memory
- Tap the "Contacts" icon
- Select the desired contact
- Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
- Tap "Ringtone"
- Select the desired ringtone and tap "OK"
- Tap "Save" to apply the changes
Changing the Notification Sound:
- Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
- Select the desired notification sound and tap "OK"
