Managing Home Screens
Changing the Wallpaper:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Tap "Settings" and go to "Wallpaper"
- Select the location of the wallpaper
- Scroll through your wallpapers and select the one that you wish to set.
- To assign a wallpaper from the gallery or a different location, tap "More images"
- Finally, tap "Set wallpaper" or "Done", depending on the source of the image
Adding Items on the Home Screen:
- To add a widget on the home screen, tap and hold an empty space while viewing a home screen > select "Widgets" and then tap and hold the desired widget. Drag the widget and drop it on top of the desired home screen
- To add app shortcuts, tap the "Apps" button and then tap > hold > drag > drop the desired app shortcut to the home screen
- To move an item located on the home screen, simply tap and hold it, and drag > drop it in a different location
- To remove an item from the home screen, tap > hold > drag > drop it on top of the "Remove" button
Managing the Home Screen Panels:
If you wish to add, move or delete a home screen panel, tap an empty area on the home screen and then:
- To add a home screen panel, swipe to the left and tap the "+" panel
- To remove a panel, tap and hold it while in preview mode, and drag > drop it in the "Remove" area
- To move a home screen panel, tap and hold it, then drag > drop it in a different location
Creating Folders:
- From the home screen, press and hold an application shortcut
- Drag the icon and drop it on top of the "Create folder" field that should appear near the top of the display
- Enter a name for the folder
- To add more shortcuts in the folder, press "+", select the apps and tap "Done"
Managing the Apps Drawer
Changing the App Drawer View Mode:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- From the apps drawer, tap the "Menu" icon and select "View as"
- Select the desired view
Hiding / Showing Apps in the Apps Drawer:
- Launch the apps drawer
- Press "Menu" > "Hide apps"
- Mark the applications that you want to hide
- Tap "Done"
- To make a hidden application visible again, tap "Menu" and select "Show hidden apps"
- Select the apps that you wish to make visible and tap "Done"
Rearranging Shortcuts in the Apps Drawer:
- Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
- Tap "Menu" > "Edit"
- To move a shortcut, tap and hold it then drag > drop it in a different location
- To move a shortcut to a different app drawer panel, tap and hold the shortcut and drag it at the edge of the screen
- To create a new apps drawer panel, tap and hold a shortcut and drag it on top of the "Create page" area
Creating Folders in the Apps Drawer:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "Menu" > "Create folder"
- Enter a name for the folder
- Tap the "+" button to add app shortcuts in the folder
- Tap "Done"
Enabling Easy Mode:
NOTE: Easy Mode is a TouchWiz feature that allows the user to change the user interface to a much simpler layout featuring larger icons and a simplified home screen. Much like in normal mode, the home screen can also be customized in Easy Mode, with frequently used apps, shortcuts, favorite contacts etc. To enable this mode:
- Launch the apps drawer
- Tap "Settings" > "Easy mode"
- Tap "Easy mode" again and select the applications to apply the simply layout to
- Tap "Done"
- If you want to add more shortcuts to the home screen, swipe left and tap "+"
- To add a contact to the home screen, scroll right and tap "Contacts"
- To delete shortcuts from the home screen, press "Menu" > "Edit", then select an app / contact shortcut and tap the "-" button associated with it
