Restoring Applications:
- Sign in with your Samsung or Google account
- Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
- Scroll to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
- Select "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you have used when you've backed up the data
- Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
- Tap "Sync all"
- Press "Back" until you return to the "User and Backup" menu
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Mark / Clear the check boxes associated with "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts
Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:
- Sign in with your Samsung or Google account
- Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Scroll to "User and Backup" and go to "Accounts"
- Tap "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you've used when backing up the contacts
- Tap your "email address" located at the top-side of the screen
- Mark the check box next to "Sync contacts"
- Tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts Stored on the SD Card:
- Launch the "Contacts" application
- Go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "Menu" key and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
- Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
- Choose the desired account and then load the VCF file
Restoring Media
Restoring Media File from the Phone's Storage:
- Launch the apps drawer
- Go to "My Files" > "All files"
- Tap "SD card"
- Press "Menu" and tap "Select"
- Mark the check boxes next to the files and / or folders that that you wish to restore
- Press "Menu" and tap "Move"
- Tap "Device storage"
- Navigate to where you want to restore the files and then tap "Move here"
- To move the files to a different location, tap "Create folder" > "Move here"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a connection between your Galaxy S5 Sport and computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down on the smartphone
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the check box next to "Media device (MTP)"
- Click "Open device to view files" on the computer
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the media files backed up on your PC
- Copy the desired files and then transfer them to the "Phone" or "Card" directories on your phone
- After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the "mass storage device" icon located in the system tray
Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the SGS5 Sport to the Mac via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down on the S5 Sport
- Tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device" check box
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- From the Kies main page, click the "Back up / restore" tab
- Go to the "Restore" tab
- Mark the check boxes next to "Photo" and "Music". NOTE: to restore all of your files, mark the check box associated with "Select all items"
- Click "Restore" and follow any on-screen prompts to complete the process
- After the files have been restored, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
