Clearing App Cache / Data:

NOTE: Assuming that one or more of your applications are not working as intended, then you may want to try and fix them by clearing their cache and / or data.

WARNING! While clearing an app's cache won't result in personal data loss, clearing an application's data will delete all personal information stored within the app, including saved games, credit card information, profiles, high scores etc. It's recommended that you first try and fix these issues by clearing the cache.

  1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap the "More" tab and go to "Application manager"
  4. Swipe to the "All" or "Downloaded" screen
  5. Select the desired app and tap "Clear cache"
  6. If clearing the cache hasn't helped, then you can tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: You can clear the phone's cache partition in case the device crashes, freezes or doesn't work as intended. Unlike a master reset, clearing the phone's cache can help with a large number of issues without having to remove personal data stored on the internal memory. To clear the device's cache partition:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" keys simultaneously
  3. After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" key but keep pressing the other two buttons
  4. At the "Android System Recovery" screen, release all hardware keys
  5. From the recovery menu, use "Volume Down" to highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the option
  7. Once the cache partition has been wiped, highlight "reboot system" now and tap "Power"
  8. Your smartphone will now restart in normal mode

NOTE: In case clearing the phone's cache partition hasn't solved the issues with your device, you can try and fix these problems by applying a factory reset. To learn how you can master reset the Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition, visit this link.
