Clearing an App's Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications isn't working properly then you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the application's cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal data stored within the app, including saved games, high scores, profiles, credit card and login information etc. As such, it's advised that you first clear the app's cache and see if it fixes the issues.

  1. From the home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to the "More" tab
  4. Tap "Application manager"
  5. Swipe to the "Downloaded" or "All" screen
  6. Tap the desired application, and press "Clear cache"
  7. If clearing the cache hasn't solved the issues, you can also tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Wiping the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your smartphone is not working properly, it crashes, freezes etc. then you might consider master resetting it. Before doing so however, you can try and fix these problems by wiping the phone's cache partition. Unlike a master reset, clearing the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data stored on the internal memory. To wipe the cache:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold "Volume Up", "Power" and "Home" at the same time
  3. Once the device vibrates, release the "Power" button but continue pressing the other two
  4. Release all hardware keys when the "Android System Recovery" screen appears
  5. In the recovery menu, use "Volume down" to navigate to and highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press the "Power" key to select the highlighted option
  7. After the cache partition is wiped, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted
  8. Press "Power" to reboot your device in normal mode
