Transferring Audio Files

From a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime and computer
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down
  3. Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
  4. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Open a second windows Explorer window and go to the location where the desired audio files are stored on your PC
  6. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone's storage
  7. After the transfer is done, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon in the system tray and eject your device
  8. Safely disconnect the Grand Prime from the computer

Transfer from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps in case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac computer

  1. Open the Internet browser on your Mac
  2. Visit Kies
  3. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow any additional instructions to install Kies on your Mac
  4. Connect the Galaxy Grand Prime to your Mac via USB
  5. Drag the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  6. Mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
  7. Open Kies on the Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory" or "Internal memory"
  8. Navigate to the location where you want to transfer the audio files on your smartphone
  9. On the Mac, use the file finder to locate the audio files you want to transfer
  10. Drag the files and drop them into Kies
  11. After the transfer is done, eject the smartphone and safely disconnect it from your computer

Setting Custom Ringtones and Notification Sounds

Changing the Phone's Ringtone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Sound"
  3. Swipe under "Ringtones and Notifications"
  4. Tap "Ringtones"
  5. Select the ringtone you want to set and then press "OK" to confirm

Changing the Notification Sound:

  1. Open the apps drawer and then go to "Settings"
  2. Tap "Sound"
  3. Swipe to "Ringtones and Notifications" and tap "Notifications"
  4. Select the notification sound you want to use
  5. Tap "OK" to set and confirm the changes
