    Check the Amount of SD Card Space:

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "System" and tap "Storage"
    4. You can view the "Total space" and "Available space" values under "SD Card"

    Format the SD Card:

    WARNING! Formatting the SD card will result in the deletion of all data stored on it. Before proceeding, it's recommended that you back up your important data stored on the device.

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "System" and tap "Storage"
    4. Tap "Format SD Card" under "SD Card"
    5. Tap "Format SD Card" again and press "Delete all" to confirm

    Opening or Deleting SD Card Files

    Deleting Files Using the Smartphone:

    1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
    2. Launch "My Files" and scroll to "Local Storage"
    3. Tap "SD Card"
    4. Tap "SD memory card" and tap the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner
    5. Tap "Select" and mark the check boxes next to the items you want to remove
    6. Tap "Done" and press "OK"

    Opening or Deleting Files Using a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to your computer via USB
    2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Media Device (MTP)"
    3. From the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open folder to view files"
    4. Access the "Removable Disk" folder representing the SD card storage
    5. Open files or folders by double-clicking them
    6. To remove files from the SD card, select them and press "Delete" on the keyboard
    7. When you're done with opening or deleting items, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon located in the system tray and eject your phone
    8. Safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC

    Opening or Deleting Files Using a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: The first 2 steps should be skipped if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac computer

    1. Launch the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
    2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen steps to install Kies on your Mac
    3. Connect the Mega 2 to your Mac via USB
    4. Drag the "Status" bar down and mark the "Media Device (MTP)" check box
    5. Launch Kies and the Galaxy Mega 2 should be displayed under "Connected Devices"
    6. In Kies, click the "Folder" icon next to "External memory"
    7. Locate the files you wish to remove or open
    8. Double-click a file to open it. TO remove an item, mark the check box associated with it, click the icon shaped like a "Trash Can" and click "OK"
    9. After you're done opening or viewing files, eject the smartphone's drive from the Mac's desktop and safely disconnect your device

    File Transfer

    Transferring Files Between the SD Card and a Windows PC:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy Mega 2 and computer
    2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Media Device (MTP)"
    3. Click "Open folder to view files" > "OK" from the AutoPlay window on the computer
    4. Open the "Removable Disk" directory
    5. Locate the desired files on the SD card
    6. Transfer the desired files on the computer's HDD, or vice versa
    7. Once the transfer is done, disconnect your smartphone from the computer

    Transfer Files From a Mac to the SD:

    1. Connect the Galaxy Mega 2 to the Mac computer via USB
    2. Set the smartphone as a "Media Device (MTP)" from the notification area
    3. Open Kies on the Mac
    4. Click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory"
    5. Use the file explorer to locate the files you want to transfer from the Mac
    6. Drag the files and drop them in the "External memory" area in Kies
    7. After the process is done, eject the phone's storage and safely disconnect the Mega 2 from the Mac

    Transfer Files from the Internal Memory to the SD Card:

    1. Open "My Files" on the smartphone
    2. Go to "local Storage" and tap "Device storage"
    3. Locate the desired files on the internal memory
    4. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired files
    5. Tap "Menu" > "Move" (or select "Copy" instead if you wish to duplicate the files)
    6. Tap "SD memory card" and select a location
    7. Tap "Move here" / "Paste here"

    Transfer Files from the SD Card to the Internal Storage:

    1. Launch "My Files" and go to "Local Storage"
    2. Tap "SD Card" > "SD memory card"
    3. Locate the files you want to transfer and mark the check boxes associated with them
    4. Press "Menu" and tap "Copy" or "Move"
    5. Tap "Device storage" and go to the desired target location
    6. There, tap "Move here" or "Paste here"

    How do you back up the files on cellBEFORE YOU DO THE SD FORMATTING
