NOTE: you can also transfer the VCF file from the Galaxy SIII by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB, and manually copy-pasting the file to the Galaxy A5's storage. Then, import the file's contents using the "Contacts" app as described above.

Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Another method of contact transfer relies on third party applications such as "Send Anywhere" This is an app that can transfer contacts and other types of files via a P2P connection, cross platform, without needing access to a computer. To use this method:

  1. Launch the Google Play Store app on both Samsung devices and install "Send Anywhere"
  2. Open the application on both smartphones
  3. On the SGSIII, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts you want to transfer and tap "Send"
  5. Choose the desired method of transfer. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the SGSIII and scan the code with the A5's camera to begin the transfer process. You can also tap "Receive" on the Galaxy A5, and manually enter the randomly generated transfer code from the SIII
