Audio File Transfer

Transfer Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime to the computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down
  3. Tap "Connected as a media device"
  4. Check the "Media device (MTP)" box
  5. From the AutoPlay window on the computer click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  6. Go to the location where you wish to transfer your files on the smartphone
  7. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on the PC's HDD
  8. Transfer the files from the PC to the phone's storage
  9. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon in the system tray, eject the phone and safely disconnect it from the computer

Transfer Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if you already have Samsung Kies on your Mac

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions
  3. Connect the Galaxy Core Prime to the Mac via USB
  4. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" >" Media device (MTP)"
  5. In the Kies main screen, click the "Folder" icon next to "External memory" or "Internal memory"
  6. Navigate to the directory where the audio files should be transferred
  7. Drag the desired files from the computer and into Kies to begin the transfer

Manage the Ringtones & Notification Sounds List

Add Audio Files to the Ringtones List:

  1. Press "menu" from the home screen and go to "Settings"
  2. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" and tap "Add"
  3. Select the method of adding ringtones, tap "Always" or "Just once" and press "OK"

Add Audio Files to the Notification Sounds List:

  1. Launch "My Files"
  2. Tap "All Files" and locate the audio files you want to add
  3. Tap and hold a file and tap "Copy"
  4. Tap "Device storage"
  5. Navigate to, and open the "Notifications folder"
  6. Tap "Paste here"

Change the Ringtone / Notification Sound

Change the Phone's Ringtone:

  1. From the home screen press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
  3. Tap "Ringtone" and select the desired ringtone for the phone
  4. Press "OK" to confirm

Assign a Custom Ringtone to a Contact:

NOTE: Custom Ringtones cannot be assigned for contacts stored on the phone's internal memory or the SIM card

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
  4. Select the ringtone you want to set
  5. Press "OK" > "Save"

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. From the phone's "Settings" menu tap "Sound"
  2. Access "Notifications"
  3. Select the desired notification sound
  4. Press "OK"

Set a Song as Your Ringtone:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Music" and go to the "Tracks" tab
  3. Select a song, press "Menu" > "Set as"
  4. Tap "Auto recommendations button"
  5. Select "Phone Ringtone" under "Set As"
  6. Tap "Done"
