Audio File Transfer
Transfer Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime to the computer via USB
- Swipe the "Notification" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device"
- Check the "Media device (MTP)" box
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Go to the location where you wish to transfer your files on the smartphone
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on the PC's HDD
- Transfer the files from the PC to the phone's storage
- Once the transfer is complete, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon in the system tray, eject the phone and safely disconnect it from the computer
Transfer Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if you already have Samsung Kies on your Mac
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions
- Connect the Galaxy Core Prime to the Mac via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" >" Media device (MTP)"
- In the Kies main screen, click the "Folder" icon next to "External memory" or "Internal memory"
- Navigate to the directory where the audio files should be transferred
- Drag the desired files from the computer and into Kies to begin the transfer
Manage the Ringtones & Notification Sounds List
Add Audio Files to the Ringtones List:
- Press "menu" from the home screen and go to "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" and tap "Add"
- Select the method of adding ringtones, tap "Always" or "Just once" and press "OK"
Add Audio Files to the Notification Sounds List:
- Launch "My Files"
- Tap "All Files" and locate the audio files you want to add
- Tap and hold a file and tap "Copy"
- Tap "Device storage"
- Navigate to, and open the "Notifications folder"
- Tap "Paste here"
Change the Ringtone / Notification Sound
Change the Phone's Ringtone:
- From the home screen press "Menu"
- Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
- Tap "Ringtone" and select the desired ringtone for the phone
- Press "OK" to confirm
Assign a Custom Ringtone to a Contact:
NOTE: Custom Ringtones cannot be assigned for contacts stored on the phone's internal memory or the SIM card
- Launch the "Contacts" app
- Select the desired contact
- Tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
- Select the ringtone you want to set
- Press "OK" > "Save"
Change the Notification Sound:
- From the phone's "Settings" menu tap "Sound"
- Access "Notifications"
- Select the desired notification sound
- Press "OK"
Set a Song as Your Ringtone:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Tap "Music" and go to the "Tracks" tab
- Select a song, press "Menu" > "Set as"
- Tap "Auto recommendations button"
- Select "Phone Ringtone" under "Set As"
- Tap "Done"
