Back Up App Data:
- Tap "Apps" on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Under "User and Backup" tap "Backup and reset"
- Sign in with your Google account. NOTE: to add one, tap "Backup account" > "Add account"
- Tick the boxes associated with "Backup my data" and "Backup account"
Contact Backup
Back Up Contacts on a Samsung or Google Account:
- Tap "Contacts" on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" > "Merge accounts"
- Select "Samsung account" or "Google"
- Tap "OK" and the contacts on your phone will be synced with your account
Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Swipe to "Applications" and tap "Contacts"
- Tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
- Tap "Import / Export" > "Export to SD card"
- Make sure you will remember the backup file's name for future use and tap "OK"
Back Up Media Files
On the SD Card:
- Open the "Apps" drawer
- Access "My Files"
- Tap "Local Storage" > "Device storage"
- Tap "Menu" > "Select"
- Locate the media files you wish to back up
- Mark the boxes associated with the files and press "Menu" > "Copy"
- Tap "SD card" and select a folder
- Tap "Paste here"
On a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Galaxy Xcover 3 to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device" > enable "Media device (MTP)"
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer click "Open device to view files"
- Access the "Card" or "Phone" directory and locate the media files you want to back up
- Copy the files and transfer them on your computer
On a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if you already have Samsung Kies installed on your Mac
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Navigate to Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen steps to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Xcover 3 to your Mac via USB
- From the "Notification" area make sure your phone is "Connected as a media device" > "Media Device (MTP)"
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
- Click the "Backup" tab and select the folders you wish to back up ("Music", "Photo" and so on)
- Click "Backup" and want for the process to complete
- When done, drag the phone's virtual drive to "Eject / Trash" and safely disconnect the device from the Mac
