How-to: Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3: Manage Contacts & Caller Groups

Contact Management

Add a New Contact:

1. Tap "Contacts" on the home screen
2. Access the "Contacts" tab and press "+"
3. Choose to save the contact on the "Device", "SIM card", "Google" or "Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync"
4. Type in the contact's name and phone number in the appropriate fields
5. Enter additional contact details if you want (optional)
6. When done, tap "Save"

Add a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. Launch the "Phone" app
2. Tap the "Keypad" tab and press "Menu"
3. Tap "Speed dial" and touch the dial pad number you want to use for speed dialing
4. Select the contact to associate with the speed dial number

Import /Export SIM Card Contacts:

1. Launch "Contacts" and access the "Contacts" tab
2. Press "Menu" > "Settings" > "Contacts"
3. Tap "Import /Export" and perform one of the following:
   
   • To export contacts:
     
     1. Tap "Export to SIM card"
     2. Tap "Select all" or tap the contacts you want to export individually
     3. Press "Done" > "OK"
   • To import contacts:
     
     1. Tap "Import from SIM card"
     2. Select an account
     3. Tap the contacts you want to import or tap "Select all"
     4. Tap "Done"

Import / Export SD Card Contacts:

1. Open the "Contacts" app
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu" > "Settings" > "Contacts"
3. Tap "Import / Export" and follow one of the steps below:
   
   • To import contacts from the SD:
     
     1. Tap "Import from SD card"
     2. Select the location where the contacts should be imported
     3. Tap "Import vCard file", "Import multiple vCard files" or "Import all vCard files"
     4. Tap "OK"
     5. If necessary, select the vCard file to import and tap "OK"
   • To export SD card contacts:
     
     1. Tap "Export to SD Card" > "OK"

Delete Contacts:

1. Open "Contacts"
2. Press "Menu" from the "Contacts" tab
3. Tap "Delete" and mark the check boxes associated with the contacts you want to remove
4. Tap "Done" > "OK"

Manage Caller Groups

Create a Caller Group:

1. Tap "Contacts" on the home screen
2. Go to the "Groups" tab and tap "Create"
3. Enter the desired name for the group and tap "Add member"
4. Select the contacts you want to add to the group and tap "Done"
5. Press "Save"

Add Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Launch "Contacts"
2. From the "Groups" tab, select the group you want to add contacts to
3. Tap the "+" button and select the desired contacts
4. Tap "Done" to apply the changes
