Back Up App Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Under User and Backup tap Backup and reset
- To sign in with your Google account, tap Backup account > Add account
- If needed enable Backup my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts
Using a Samsung or Google Account:
- Launch the Contacts app
- Press Menu > Settings
- Tap Merge accounts and select either Google or Samsung
- Tap OK to complete the process
On the SD Card:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Go to Applications and tap Contacts
- Tap Menu > Contacts to display > All contacts
- Tap Import / Export > Export to SD card
Back Up Media Files
From the SD Card:
- Ensure the SD card containing the desired media files is installed on your smartphone
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open My Files
- Under Local storage, tap Device storage > Menu > Select
- Access the desired media files and check the boxes associated with the ones you want to back up
- Press Menu > Copy > SD card
- Navigate to the desired target directory and tap Paste here
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the S Duos 3 to your computer via USB
- Drag the Status bar down and tap Connected as a media device
- Enable Media Device (MTP)
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click Open device to view files
- Navigate to the desired media files on your phone
- Copy the files, and paste them in the desired location on your computer
- After the transfer is complete click the Media Storage icon located in the system tray, eject the storage and safely disconnect the phone from the PC
Back Up Media on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies and click Download for Mac OS
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 to your computer via USB
- Ensure the phone is connected as a Media Device (MTP)
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the Back up / Restore tab
- Access the Backup tab and check the boxes next to Music, Photos and other media files you want to back up. (Optionally you can click Select all items)
- Click Backup and the process will commence. Once done, drag the Duos 3 virtual drive into the Eject / Trash bin and safely disconnect the device from the computer
