Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Under “User and Backup” tap “Backup and reset”
  4. To sign in with your Google account, tap “Backup account” > “Add account”
  5. If needed enable “Backup my data” and “Backup account”

Back Up Contacts

Using a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Launch the “Contacts” app
  2. Press “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Tap “Merge accounts” and select either “Google” or “Samsung”
  4. Tap “OK” to complete the process

On the SD Card:

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Go to “Applications” and tap “Contacts”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  4. Tap “Import / Export” > “Export to SD card”

Back Up Media Files

From the SD Card:

  1. Ensure the SD card containing the desired media files is installed on your smartphone
  2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  3. Open “My Files”
  4. Under “Local storage”, tap “Device storage” > “Menu” > “Select”
  5. Access the desired media files and check the boxes associated with the ones you want to back up
  6. Press “Menu” > “Copy” > “SD card”
  7. Navigate to the desired target directory and tap “Paste here”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the S Duos 3 to your computer via USB
  2. Drag the “Status” bar down and tap “Connected as a media device”
  3. Enable “Media Device (MTP)”
  4. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click “Open device to view files”
  5. Navigate to the desired media files on your phone
  6. Copy the files, and paste them in the desired location on your computer
  7. After the transfer is complete click the “Media Storage” icon located in the system tray, eject the storage and safely disconnect the phone from the PC

Back Up Media on a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies and click “Download for Mac OS”
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 to your computer via USB
  5. Ensure the phone is connected as a “Media Device (MTP)”
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / Restore” tab
  7. Access the “Backup” tab and check the boxes next to “Music”, “Photos” and other media files you want to back up. (Optionally you can click “Select all items”)
  8. Click “Backup” and the process will commence. Once done, drag the Duos 3 virtual drive into the “Eject / Trash” bin and safely disconnect the device from the computer
