Restore Applications:
- Sign in with the Google or Samsung account you used for the initial backup
- Access the phones Settings menu
- Swipe to User and Backup and tap Accounts
- Select Google or Samsung depending on the type of account you used for the backup
- Tap your email address at the top of the screen
- Tap Sync all
- Press Back to return to the User and Backup menu
- Tap Backup and reset
- Under Backup and Restore, check/clear the Back up my data" and Automatic restore options
Restore Contacts From a Samsung or Google Account:
- If necessary, sign in with the Samsung / Google account used for backing up your contacts
- Go to Settings
- Tap Accounts under User and Backup
- Select either Google or Samsung
- Tap your email address and if necessary, check the Sync Contacts box
- Tap menu > Sync now
Restore Media Files From a Windows PC:
- Connect the Galaxy Note 5 to your computer via USB
- Swipe the Status bar down
- Tap Connected as a media device and enable Media device (MTP)
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click Open device to view files
- Navigate to the directory where you want to restore media files on the phone
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up media files on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phones memory
- Once done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Note 5 and Mac
- Ensure the Note 5 is connected as a Media device (MTP)
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Inside Kies, click the Back up / restore tab
- Click the Restore tab
- Click the check box associated with Music, Photo or any other type of media file you want to restore. (Optionally, enable Select all items)
- Click Restore and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
- When done, drag the phone storage to the trash can and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
