Restore App Data:

  1. If necessary, sign in with the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “User and Backup” and tap “Accounts
  4. Select “Google” or “Samsung” depending on the type of account used for the backup
  5. Tap your “email address” or “user name” at the top of the screen
  6. Tap “Sync all
  7. Go to “User and Backup
  8. Under “Backup and Restore”, clear / check the tick boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data

Restore Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:

  1. Sign in with the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup
  4. Select “Google” or “Samsung”, depending on the type of account used for the backup
  5. Tap your “email address” at the top of the screen
  6. Turn on “Sync Contacts”, press “Menu” > “Sync Now

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Galaxy On7 to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)
  3. Open an Explorer window on the computer
  4. Navigate to the desired media files backed up on the computer
  5. Copy the files, and transfer them back on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  7. Safely disconnect the device from the USB cable

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Galaxy On7 to your Mac via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down
  3. If necessary, enable “Media device (MTP)
  4. Launch Kies on the Mac
  5. Access the “Back up / restore” tab in Kies
  6. Click the “Restore” tab
  7. Tick the check boxes next to “Photos”, “Music”, and other types of media files you want to restore
  8. Click “Restore” and if necessary, follow the on-screen steps complete the process
  9. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can / eject” icon, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB
