    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended or occupies too much space, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal information within the app will be removed, including login and credit card information, profiles, high scores, saved games etc. As such you should first try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Applications” > “Application manager
    4. Access “All” or “Downloaded
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
    6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK

    Wipe Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended and you’re thinking about master resetting it, you should first try clearing the cache partition. This can have similar effects as a factory reset, without losing any personal data. To clear the cache:

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume up”, “Home” and “Power” at the same time
    3. Once the phone powers up, release all buttons
    4. An Android icon should appear, and after roughly 30 seconds, the phone should boot in Android System Recovery
    5. Once in the recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “wipe cache partition
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. After the cache is wiped, “Reboot system now” should be highlighted
    8. Press “Power” to reboot your device

NOTE: If clearing the cache didn’t help, you can visit this thread for full instructions on how to master reset the phone instead.

Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes issues on the device and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app by first rebooting your phone in safe mode. In safe mode, all third party apps are disabled.

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Power
    3. Once the “Samsung” logo appears, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. After the phone finishes restarting, release “Volume down
    5. Once the phone reboots, a “Safe Mode” label should be present in the lower-left corner
    6. To remove an app, first go to “Settings
    7. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications
    8. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded
    9. Select the desired app and tap “uninstall
    10. Tap “Uninstall” a second time to confirm
    11. To exit safe mode, press and hold “Power” and then tap “Restart
