Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy J3 and computer
- Drag the status bar down on the home screen
- Make sure the phone is connected as a Media device (MTP)
- Open an Explorer window on the PC and locate the desired audio files
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phone, preferably in the Ringtones / Notifications folders in the Media directory
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the USB connector
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps.
- Open the Internet explorer on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support and click Kies 3 for Mac
- Open the downloaded file and install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Galaxy J3 to your Mac via USB (make sure Media Device (MTP) is enabled in the notification area)
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Inside Kies, click the Folder icon associated with Internal memory or External memory
- Launch the file explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag and drop the files inside Kies to start the transfer
- After the transfer is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop into the Trash can to eject
Add Audio Files to the Ringtones List:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Sounds and notifications
- Tap Ringtones and sounds under Sound
- Tap Ringtone > Add ringtone
- Choose to complete the action with Sound picker and select Always or Just once
- Select the audio files to use as ringtones and tap Done
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Sounds and notifications
- Scroll to Sound and tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap Back to save changes automatically
Change the Ringtone of a Single Contact:
- Launch Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone and select a ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Sounds and notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Select the desired notification sound
- Tap Back to save
