Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “System”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Power saving mode” switch to “ON”
  5. Tap “Start power saving” and select a battery percentage at which the battery saving mode should enable automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System”
  4. Tap “Battery” and enable “Ultra power saving mode”
  5. Tap “Agree”
  6. To add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap “+”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth while unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap the switches next to the connectivity options you want to turn off

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery life and you don’t have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “More connection settings”
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  5. Select “GSM only”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
  3. Tap “Automatic brightness” and, if necessary, disable this feature
  4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
  5. Tap “Screen timeout” and choose a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Under “Connections”, tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that certain applications perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Applications”
  4. Tap “Application manager”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  6. Tap “Disable” / “Turn off”
  7. To remove an application, tap “Uninstall” twice

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data being synced by your applications / accounts, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type and choose an account
  4. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
  5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to apply the changes
