Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery
  4. Tap the switch to enable “Power saving mode
  5. Select a battery percentage at which the mode should turn on automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “System
  2. Tap “Battery” and enable “Ultra power saving mode
  3. Tap “Agree” to confirm
  4. Additionally, you can tap “+” and add more apps to the Ultra power saving mode home screen

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  2. Tap “Display
  3. If necessary, disable “automatic brightness
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  5. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value, like “15 seconds

Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: To improve battery life in the long run, you can disable connectivity features when they are not in use.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Connections
  3. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to turn off

Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket and battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Connections
  3. Tap “More connection settings
  4. Access “Mobile networks” and tap “Network mode
  5. Select “GSM Only

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Connections
  2. Tap “Data usage” > “More
  3. Tap “Restrict background data
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when not in use. To try and prolong battery life in the long run, you can disable or remove unused third party apps.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  3. Tap “Applications
  4. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Disable” or “Turn off
  7. To remove an app, tap “Uninstall” two times

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By decreasing the amount of data synced by your apps / accounts, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts
  3. Select the desired account type and an account
  4. Clear and check the boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now
