WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all personal data located on the phone’s internal storage will be deleted. This includes ringtones and media files, downloaded content, apps, contacts etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Data stored on the SD and SIM cards will not be affected by the reset. However, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up and restore data on the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
  4. Enable or disable “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore
  5. When ready, tap “Factory data reset” > “Reset device
  6. In case your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN / password to proceed
  7. Tap “Continue” > “Delete all” to confirm

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, or prevents you from resetting it via settings, alternatively you can try resetting your phone via the Android System Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.

  1. If necessary, turn off your phone
  2. Press and hold “Power”, “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
  3. When the “Samsung” logo appears, release “Power
  4. At the “Android” logo, release “Volume Up” and “Home” too
  5. After up to 2 minutes, you should now have access to the Android Recovery Menu
  6. Navigate the menu using the volume rocker. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Wipe data / factory reset
  7. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  8. After the reset completes, “Reboot system now” should be highlighted
  9. Press “Power” to confirm and restart your phone

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset, it’s recommended to check if new software updates are available for download. To do this:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Scroll to and tap “About device
  3. Verify if a new update is available
  4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update(s). NOTE: this process will require a reboot
