Sync iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with your Samsung smartphone.

  1. Launch iTunes on the PC
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer using the Lightning cable
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone once it connects
  4. Access the “Info” tab
  5. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  6. Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
  7. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  8. Once the sync is done, switch to the Samsung device and register the same Google account used in iTunes
  9. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android phone

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case the contacts on your iPhone have been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and click “Contacts
  4. Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings
  5. Click “Export vCard” and once the card has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Launch the Internet browser on the PC and import the vCard file to “Google Contacts” or:
    • Connect the Samsung Galaxy On8 to your computer via USB, copy the vCard to the phone storage and use “Contacts” to import it

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the two methods above require access to a computer with Internet access, you can also transfer your iPhone contacts using third party apps instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap “Backup
  3. Wait for the backup to be created and tap “Email
  4. Ensure the email contains the vCard attachment and send it to your own address
  5. Switch to the Samsung device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  6. Use “Contacts” to import the vCard file to your phonebook

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app (available on Android and iOS) that can be used to transfer contacts through a peer-2-peer connection without requiring a computer.

  1. Install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone via the App Store
  2. Go to the Google Play Store and install the app on the Samsung device
  3. Launch the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send
  6. Lastly, choose the desired transfer method and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
