Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and your computer
- Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- On the computer, launch the File Explorer
- Locate the desired audio files on the computer and copy them
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” directories
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac.
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies Support
- Click “Kies 3 for Mac”
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Kies on your Mac
- Once done, connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB
- Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” shade
- Open Kies on the Mac and click the “Folder” icon associated with “External memory” or “Internal memory”
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies to start the transfer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping its virtual drive from the desktop and into the “trash can”
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Add Audio Files to the List of Ringtones:
- Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds and notifications”
- Tap “Ringtone and sounds” > “Ringtone”
- Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
- Choose to use the option “Always” or “Just once”
- Select the desired audio files and tap “Done”
Change the Phone’s General Ringtone:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sounds and notifications”
- Tap “Ringtones and Sounds” under “Sound”
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Press “Back” to confirm the changes
Change a Contact’s Ringtone:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Select the contact whose ringtone you wish to change
- Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
- Select the ringtone you want to set and tap “OK”
- Tap “Save” to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Sounds and notifications” under “Device”
- Under “Sounds” tap “Ringtones and sound”
- Select a notification type and the notification sound you want to use
- Tap “Back” to confirm
