    Back Up Application Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings and passwords to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data etc. to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google account

    Back Up Contacts on a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Tap “More” > “Settings
    3. If you have contacts on your phone that haven’t been synced with your account, tap “Move device contacts to
    4. Tap “Settings” and go to “Accounts
    5. Select an account to sync the contacts with
    6. Tap “More” > “Sync Now

    NOTE: The contacts backed up using this method can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Samsung or Google backup account.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
    2. Head down to Samsung Smart Switch?
    3. Click “Samsung Smart Switch for PC” and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on the PC
    4. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    5. Launch the File Explorer on the PC and locate the desired media files on the phone
    6. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer storage
    7. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Follow the first 4 steps above
    2. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    3. Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
    4. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories they originate from
    5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / restore” tab
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab
    8. Check the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to start the process
    10. Once the process is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive form the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can
    11. You can safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Follow the firs 6 steps above
    2. Go to the “Restore” tab
    3. Check the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to restore
    4. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen prompts
    5. Once the process is done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the device’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “trash can
    6. Safely disconnect the device from the USB port
