Share iPhone Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can share the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data, and contacts, with the Samsung device.
- Open iTunes on the computer
- Connect the iPhone to your PC using the Lightning cable
- In iTunes, click the iPhone and go to “Info”
- Turn ON “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
- Click “Apply” to begin the sync
- After the sync is complete, switch to the Samsung device and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android device
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account and go to “Contacts”
- Select the contacts you want to share
- Then, click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
- Wait for the vCard to be downloaded on the computer
- After the file is downloaded, follow one of these steps:
- Use the Internet browser on the computer to import the vCard to “Google contacts”, or:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import the vCard to your phonebook
Using “My Contacts Backup”:
NOTE: Although the methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can use third party apps to share your iPhone contacts without the use of a computer. My Contacts Backup is an iOS third party app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
- Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard backup file of your iPhone contacts
- After the backup file is done, tap “Email”
- Compose a new email and ensure the vCard is attached
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- Switch to the Samsung device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Use “Contacts” to import the vCard to your phonebook
Using “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use for transferring contacts is Send Anywhere. The application uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types without requiring a PC.
- Open the App Store
- Install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Samsung device
- Open the app on both smartphones
- Tap “Send” > “Contacts” on the iPhone
- Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
- Lastly, choose the desired transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone or “Receive” on the Samsung phone
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the contact transfer
