Restore Contacts from an SD Card:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
- Go to “Contacts”
- Select “Import / Export contacts” > “Import”
- Tap “SD Card”
- Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
- If necessary, select the vCard you want to restore
- Choose to restore contacts on “Device storage” or to sync the contacts with Google
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup”
- Go to “Google”
- Select your email address or username at the top
- Ensure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
Restore Media Files from an SD Card Backup:
- Open “My Files”
- Scroll to “Local storage” and tap “SD Card”
- Tap “More” > “Edit”
- Check the tick boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap “More” > “Move” > “Device storage”
- Navigate to and select the target folder, or tap “Create folder”
- Tap “Move here” to restore the files
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” from the Notification area or when prompted
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the media file backups on the PC
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open Kies on the Mac
- Access “Back up / restore” and tap the “Restore” tab
- Tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore. Alternatively, you can “Select all” media files
- Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen prompts
- After the restore is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
