Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on the PC
- Copy and paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and/or “Notifications” folder(s)
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps below if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
- Click “Download for Mac” and follow the on-screen steps to install “Kies” on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB and enable “File Transfer”
- Launch Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag and drop the files inside Kies to begin the transfer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash Can”
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Assign Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sounds & Notifications”
- Under “Sounds”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
- Tap “Ringtone”
- Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
- Choose “Always” or “Just once”
- Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list
- Tap “Done” to confirm
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sounds & Notifications”
- Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtone & sound”
- Tap “Ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone
- Press “Back” to confirm
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Select the desired contact
- Tap “Edit”
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” > “Save”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch “Settings”
- Under “Device”, tap “Sounds & Notifications”
- Tap “Ringtones and sounds”
- Select a notification type and the desired notification sound
- Tap “Back” to confirm
