Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “notifications” folder(s)
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to Samsung Kies
- Click “Download for Mac” and install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open Kies on the Mac and click the “Folder” icon next to “Internal memory” or “External memory”
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the desired audio files
- Drag the files and drop them inside Kies to start the transfer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & Notifications”
- Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sounds”
- Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
- Choose “Just once” or “Always”
- Select the audio files you want to add to the list of ringtones
- Tap “Done”
Change the Phone’s General Ringtone:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & Notifications”
- Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtone & sound”
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “Back” to confirm
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.
- Open “Contacts”
- Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Press “OK” > “Save”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Sounds & Notifications” under “Device”
- Tap “Ringtones & sounds”
- Select the desired notification type and a notification sound
- Tap “Back” to confirm
