Sync iPhone Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data including contacts with the Samsung device.
- Open iTunes on the computer
- Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
- In iTunes, click the iPhone and go to “Info”
- Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
- Click “Apply” to begin the sync
- Once the sync is complete, switch to the Samsung device and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android device
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account and click “Contacts”
- Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
- Once the vCard has been downloaded on the computer, follow one of these steps:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to your account through “Google Contacts”, or:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and use “Contacts” to import its contents to your phonebook
Using “My Contacts Backup”:
NOTE: While the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can use third party apps to share your iPhone contacts without requiring a computer. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
- Launch the app and tap “Backup”
- Wait for the vCard file to be done and then tap “Email”
- Compose a new email containing the vCard attachment
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- On the Samsung device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCard to your phonebook via “Contacts”
Using “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere, available on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to share contacts and other file types, cross-platform, without requiring a PC.
- Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Samsung device
- Open the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
- Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
- Lastly, select the desired transfer method on one of the phones and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
