Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
- Tap “Import / Export contacts”
- Tap “Import from SD Card” > “OK”
Restore Media Files from the SD Storage:
- Open the “Samsung” folder and launch “My Files”
- Tap “SD Card” > “Menu”
- Tap “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap “Menu” > “Move”
- Select “Internal storage” and tap “Move here” or tap the folder name to restore the media files to a different location
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the media file backups on the computer
- Transfer the backup files in the “Media” folder on the smartphone
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open Kies on the Mac and go to “Back up / restore”
- Access the “Restore” tab and tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
- Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
- Once the process is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the “trash can” icon to eject it
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
