Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Launch “Contacts
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
  3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts
  4. Tap “Import/Export contacts” and select to “Import from SD card
  5. If needed, tap the desired backup file and press “OK

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Launch “My Files
  2. Select “SD Card” and tap “Menu” > “Edit
  3. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Move” and select “Internal storage
  5. Tap “Move here”, or alternatively you can select a different location by tapping “Create folder

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
  5. Transfer the media files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and Mac
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File transfer” on the phone when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / restore tab
  4. Access the “Restore” tab and tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other types of files you want to restore
  5. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can
  7. You can safely disconnect the device from the USB port
