Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Contacts
  2. Tap “Menu
  3. Go to “Settings
  4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts
  5. Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD card
  6. Tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Media Files from the SD Card:

  1. Launch “My Files
  2. Tap “SD Card” > “Menu” > “Edit
  3. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage
  5. Tap “Move here” and select the desired folder name

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin or the “Media” directory
  6. Once done, safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open Kies on the Mac and access” Back up / restore
  4. Go to the “Restore” tab
  5. Tick the boxes next to “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to restore
  6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  7. After the process is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject the device
  8. You can now safely disconnect the phone
