Restore Contacts from SD Card:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- If necessary, access “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
- Tap “Import/Export contacts”
- Select to “Import from SD card”
- If needed, select the backup file you want to restore
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Restore Media Files from SD Storage:
- Open “My Files”
- Select “SD Card” and tap “Menu”
- Tap “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
- Tap “Move here” or alternatively, tap “Create folder” and select a different location
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt of from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Click the “Back up / restore” tab in Kies and then access the “Restore” tab
- Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other file types you want to restore
- Click “Restore” to confirm and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
- Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive and drop it over the “trash can” to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
