Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Battery
  3. Enable “Battery saving mode
  4. Additionally you can select a battery level at which the mode enables automatically

Disable Background Data:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Connections
  3. Tap “Data usage” > “More
  4. Tap “Restrict background data” > “OK

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Display” and turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  3. Drag the slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  4. For sleep options return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout
  5. Select a lower value such as “15 seconds

Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Use 2G Networks:

NOTE: You can disable connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Hotspot when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and preserve battery life. If you run low on battery you can also conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Connections
  2. Disable available connectivity options like Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi etc.
  3. To disable hotspot, go to “Tethering & mobile hotspot
  4. To switch to 2G networks, access “Connections” > “More connection settings
  5. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode
  6. Enable “GSM only

Minimize Third Party-App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life when not actively in use. You can disable or uninstall unused third-party apps to avoid this and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Scroll to and tap “Applications
  3. Go to “Application manager
  4. Access “Downloaded
  5. Select the desired app and tap “force Stop” / “Disable
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and an account
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates include improvements to battery life and it’s recommended to keep the software up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “About device
  3. Verify if a new update is available
  4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to complete the process (the update process will require at least one reboot)
