    Back Up App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Access “Cloud and accounts
    3. Tap “Backup & Restore
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
    5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Go to “Cloud and account” > “Accounts
    3. Select an account for backup
    4. Ensure the “Contacts” tick box is checked
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

    Back Up Contacts to SD Storage:

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Tap “Menu
    3. Go to “Settings” and switch to “All contacts” if necessary
    4. Tap “Import/Export” > “Export to SD” > “OK

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:

    1. Open “My Files
    2. Access “Internal storage
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Share” and select the desired contacts
    4. Tap “Share” again and select the desired backup location

    Back Up Media Files on a PC:

    1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Locate the media files on the phone
    4. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
    5. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

    NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps below if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.

    1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Head down to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
    3. Click “Download for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to install the app
    4. Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
    5. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and go to “Back up / Restore
    7. Access “Backup” and tick the boxes linked with “Music” “Photos” and other media file types you want to back up
    8. Click “Backup” to start the process
    9. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping its virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can, then safely disconnect the device from the USB port
