NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up contacts, media files, and app data on the phone.
Restore Contacts from SD Storage:
- Open “Contacts”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- Tap “Contacts to display” and if necessary switch to “All contacts”
- Access “import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD Card”
- Tap “OK”
Restore Media Files from SD Storage:
- Launch “My Files”
- Go to “SD Card” and tap “Menu”
- Tap “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap “Menu’ > “Move”
- Select “Internal storage” and tap “Move here” or “Create folder” and select the folder name
- When ready, tap “Move here”
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification shade
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- After the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Access the “Back up / Restore” tab, then go to “Restore”
- Tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
- Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
- Once the process completes, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “Trash can”
- You can safely disconnect the device from the USB port
