  2. Go to “Apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear data” > “OK
  5. If clearing the app data didn’t help, tap “Clear cache” (check the WARNING above)

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone.

  1. Turn the phone Off
  2. Press and hold “Volume Up” and the “Bixby”/”Home” button and then press and hold “Power
  3. At the Android logo, release the buttons and wait for up to a minute for the Android system recovery menu
  4. Once in Recovery, press “volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Wipe cache partition
  5. Press “Power” to select the option
  6. Highlight “Yes” using the volume down button and press “Power” to confirm
  7. After the cache partition is wiped, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted
  8. Press “Power” again to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

  1. Turn the phone off if necessary
  2. Then press and hold “Power
  3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
  4. Wait for the phone to finish restarting and then release the volume key. Note that a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. Next to remove an app, first open “Settings
  6. Tap “Apps” and select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm
  8. To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone as you would do normally
