WARNING! By resetting your phone, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes media files and ringtones, contacts, apps, downloaded content etc. Additionally all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings” and access “Cloud and accounts
  2. Tap “Backup and restore
  3. Optionally, turn “Restore” and “Back up my data” ON or OFF
  4. Return to “Settings” and go to “General management
  5. Tap “Reset” > “Factory data reset
  6. Tap “Reset” again and if your phone is lock-screen-protected, enter your password/PIN and tap “Continue
  7. When ready, tap “Delete all

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via Settings as detailed above, alternatively you can reset the device from Android Recovery.

  1. Turn the phone off if necessary
  2. Press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Home”/’Bixby” buttons at the same time
  3. At the Android screen, release the keys and wait for access to Android Recovery
  4. Once in Recovery, press “volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
  5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  6. Next highlight “Yes – delete all user data
  7. Press “Power
  8. Once the phone resets, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power” one last time

Reset Network Settings:

NOTE: When you reset your network settings, your saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections will be deleted, while background sync settings, data restrictive settings, and network selection mode will be restored to factory values.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “General Management
  3. Tap “Reset” > “Reset network settings
  4. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN
  5. Tap “Reset settings
