NOTE: You can check this thread for instructions on how to back up contacts, app data, and media files.
Restore Contacts from SD Storage:
- Open “Contacts” and tap “Menu”
- Go to “Settings” > “Contacts to display”
- Switch to “All contacts” if needed
- Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD card’
- Tap “OK’
Restore Media Files from SD Storage:
- Launch “My Files”
- Go to “SD Card”
- Tap “Menu” > “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
- Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
- Tap “Move storage” or “Create folder” and select the folder name
- Tap “Move here”
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Establish a USB connection between the phone and Mac
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / restore” tab
- Go to “Restore” and tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
- Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
- Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “Trash can”
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB
