    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage or doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes login and payment information, user profiles, save files, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear only the app cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Apps” and select the desired app
    3. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
    4. Tap “OK
    5. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the issue, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

    Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can fix these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the device.

    1. Turn the phone off
    2. Press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Bixby” / “Home” buttons at the same time
    3. At the Android screen, release the keys and wait for access to Android Recovery
    4. Press “Volume Down” to navigate the menu
    5. Highlight “Wipe cache partition” and press “Power” to select the highlight
    6. Next, highlight “Yes” and press “Power
    7. Finally, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power” to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. If necessary, turn the phone Off
    2. Then press and hold “Power
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Release the button once the device reboots. Once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To uninstall an app, first open “Settings
    6. Then go to “Apps” and select the desired app
    7. Tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm
    8. Once done, reboot the device normally to exit Safe Mode
