I tried the code *#9998*3323# to unlock my Samsung x426. It worked. But every time I turn off the phone and then turn it back on, it says “wrong card”, that means I have to type the code again. I tried unlocking it with and without the card I want to use in the phone.
When I type the code it gives me the following options to choose from (after I press Exit) :
1-Task Loop
2- Null Ptr Write
3-System Reset
4- Enable Sleep
5-Prohibit Sleep
6-Malloc fail
7- Jump ToNull
8- DSP Crash
9-Data Abort
0- TBD
PS: My phone was purchased with AT&T, and I’m trying to use it with Cingular Wireless.
When I was able to unlock the phone, I chose “ Data Abort” (option number 9).
-But why am I having to do it all over again when I turn my phone off and turn it back on?
-Which one of those options is the right one to choose to unlock the phone?

Message on phone at start up said (PHONE LOCKED RETURN FOR SERVICE). I fixed it by booting up with AT@T sim card and at (PHONE LOCKED RETURN FOR SERVICE) message type *#9998*3323#. A message will pop up telling you to press exit, so hit the right softkey. Choose "malloc fail". Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work. When it re-boots reset memory (SIMLOCK`a removing!!!) type * 2 7 6 7 * 3 8 5 5 # Phone re-boots. At the SIM code password prompt type 00000000, that is 8 zeroes.
Good Luck Bruce
