a670- Stronger Vibrate

Hi, I just recently got the a670:

Is there a way to make it vibrate stronger in silent mode?

Also, is there a difference between silent mode (by holding down the # key) and the vibrate mode (by using the arrow keys on the side of the phone)? Even though they both do the same thing, there is a different icon on the screen.

The difference is with holding down the pound key it turns all sounds off, with the volume button on the side only turns the ringer off, alarms and calender reminders, text messages all still make noise.
