that rebuilds the EEPROM
it eventually came back up jsut like it did after i did 73
so it won't fry the phone, jsut make it difficult to do anythign with

after 3 hours of fumbling around, and activating my old phone (sch-a310, which has the same hidden menus)
i discovered that 04 selects between cdma, pcs, gps, etc
i set that option to somehtign like "normal 04", and was able to get the phone to detect towers, re-activate it, get it programmed again, and it's back up and running perfectly

on the plus side, that annoying verizon wireless banner is gone, which fromt he debug screen is called the ERI display
instead, the clock jsut stays permanently

the test-prls/whatever thing changes depending on the mode the phone is set to in 04

so to sum things up, steer clear of the console mode
hit # to get out of changing an individual thing without saving
02 will restart the phone
29, and 73 will erase everything
to get service back (and nothing else), use 04

Hey i tried the 04 but it was 03 for normal on my fone...um do i have to re activate which means i gotta pay again?

Once you are in the test mode hit 99. You would see a bunch of settings for the speakerphone and stuff. If you go to the one that says something with Synthx and change it from 005 to 012 or something like that your volume will go up.

Hello! Does anyone know how to use the secret menus to tell the file system to unlock files? I am one of those idiots who put a .jpg in the digital_cam folder and now can't use my camera or view the gallery without it rebooting. I am looking for some way to unlock active files and delete them using QPST without having to buy a data/charger cable! Please HELP!!!

This is the supposed option to get rid of the verizon banner.

I have done this abd it got rid of the banner.

Is there anyway to put the banner back on?????

CDMA_MODCD01
or
PCS_MODE P02

Which was the original setting???
And does anyone have any explanation on what each of those 5 options mean? And what exactly they all do?
