hmm... i wonder what other commands there are
first try, had no clue that you hit # to get out of a command/prompt, ended up hitting random buttons, then removing the battery after panicking
somehow didnt hurt anything
second time, same thing, but this time, it erased everything i had put into the phone, no big deal (oddly enough, the get-it-now apps stayed)
then after putting in the important numbers, i worite down the ones i couldnt remember, and decided to give the mode a try again, this time, i started at 01, and figured out to hit # to get out of a mode without savign changes
i skipped 29, and went up to 73
which erases everyhtign on the phone
EVERYTHING
the phone would no longer connect to towers, or anything
i messed aorund a little in other hidden menus with no luck, so figured i would go ahead and do 29,
that rebuilds the EEPROM
it eventually came back up jsut like it did after i did 73
so it won't fry the phone, jsut make it difficult to do anythign with
after 3 hours of fumbling around, and activating my old phone (sch-a310, which has the same hidden menus)
i discovered that 04 selects between cdma, pcs, gps, etc
i set that option to somehtign like "normal 04", and was able to get the phone to detect towers, re-activate it, get it programmed again, and it's back up and running perfectly
on the plus side, that annoying verizon wireless banner is gone, which fromt he debug screen is called the ERI display
instead, the clock jsut stays permanently
the test-prls/whatever thing changes depending on the mode the phone is set to in 04
so to sum things up, steer clear of the console mode
hit # to get out of changing an individual thing without saving
02 will restart the phone
29, and 73 will erase everything
to get service back (and nothing else), use 04
