I have a VGA1000 Samsung and just picked up a data cable for it.

It came with a CD full of drivers, and I was able to load the proper one onto my computer. The phone reads "USB Connected" when plugged in, so that's good, however I'm stumped as to what I'm supposed to do now.

Instructions say to open up System in the PC's CP, and select a COM4 location for the device. However, there's no option anywhere that I can see. What to do?

Once I figure that out, what else do I do? Is the phone recognized as an external hard drive, or do I have to download an application somewhere so I can drag/drop/load/etc. files to/from the phone/PC?

    Thanks everyone!

If you have Vision Professional Pak, the BCPE will give you real time remote access to files on the PC's hard drive as well as to Outlook directory, contacts, email & attachments.

    What's a BCPE?

I don't have the Vision Pack, but isn't the point of having a data cable to bypass paying the monthly fee of it?

Business Connection is part of some of the Vision paks. It gives you remote access to your desktop.

A cable is ok I guess if you don't mind staying next to the computer. But many of us have a mobile phone because we are mobile. You can access your PC from another location in real time.

So if you are out and about, you can check email on your PC easily and current. If you need a document , you don't have to wait to get back to the office, rig the phone to the computer and download it; you just get it now.

For 0.50 a day it's a bargain for many of us. But I guess it depends on what your time is worth.

In my field, that's of no use for me.

The only reason I want to figure this out is for the off-chance when I use my phone's camera for a picture (when an actual camera isn't available or allowed wherever I was), so I can transfer it to my computer without having to pay $15/month for the ability.

Sprint told me that I can't just send one or two and pay per use, and I certainly don't want to test it out and get a $15 bill later on.

Yes, you can send one or two and pay per use if you do not need the Unlimited Vision for $15/mo. You pay 0.01/kb of data. see http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/se...=1107315445663 The second to last bullet point at the bottom of the page clearly allows casual use such as what you are wanting to do. Use it occasionally and enjoy it.

    Best Regards.
