Here at the CTIA show in New Orleans, Samsung was showing off a new yet-to-be-announced EV-DO 3G handset called the A970. They expect a formal announcement to come some time in the second quarter of this year, but are not willing to say if the announcement will be with Verizon, who currently has a commercially available EV-DO network, or if the phone will be for Sprint, who is planning to launch a full scale EV-DO network soon.
The A970 is a 2 megapixel camcorder style cameraphone. The camera is located in the hinge, and the main display can be twisted 90 degrees in either direction to allow for it to be use like many of the mini-DV camcorders on the market, or like some of the solid state MPEG4 digital video recorders.
Out side of the camera/camcorder aspects, the A970 support Bluetooth and makes use of Voice Signal's Voice Suite speaker-independent voice control software.
