(It took me a while to type all this out because i'm in the middle of cooking dinner, but if Rob's suggestion doesn't pan out maybe answering my questions will help us find another solution for you)

I am kind of making a guess since nobody else has answered yet. Was your friend's phone originally activated on Cingular or was it on AT&T when they became Cingular? Second, are you using an uploader that is specific to Cingular or does it say it will work with any brand? For example, the uploader I use is designed for Sprint, and although it will work with most other companies, there is a different procedure for retrieving them.

Are you trying to send the files via a link through your friends SMS text messaging, or are you actually going to an upload site on the phone browser and putting in a jump code to retrieve the file you uploaded? Last question, have you tried emailing the files as an attachment to see if the phone will get the attachment? Maybe knowing the answers to these questions will help one of us come up with some kind of solution for you...

Have you tried more than one uploader and gotten the same result? You can try using the one i use, it's www.rumkin.com/tools/sprint just leave the phone# blank and it will generate a 6-digit jump code, then you point the phone browser to www.rumkin.com/tools/sprint/jump.php and put in the code, if it still doesnt work using a different uploader then I'm kinda clueless. Did you also try Rob's suggestion of just downloading from a different area? I'd go at least 10 miles from where you are now because a tower's range is usually around 9 miles. If none of this works for you let us know... there might be more options the cingular mod can think of.
