    Hello everyone...

I'm sure you've heard this one before...I have recently purchased a Samsung A-790 on Ebay, I was able to connect it online with support from Verizon Technical. Everything works great with the phone, but here's the problem, Verizon contacted me via SMS (text) to contact their global tech support to verify my SIM# in order to get the GLobal feature activated but when I did so, they told me I needed to have the original SIM card that comes with the phone, It doesn't have it and the guy who sold it to me doesn't have it. Can someone tell me if...

Is it absolutely necessary to use the original SIM card from Verizon in order to use the phone to it's full capability globally? or can I purchase a different a different SIM card in each country I'm at?

I have read a little bit online, and it seems that I can purchase pre-paid SIM cards and change them at will, depending the country its from. Is this true? or is Verizon in full control of my phone and SIMs' I use on them.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions are appreciated.
