Samsung a900 how to put MP3 for Ringtone?

this is driving me nuts for a week now
i tried switching the files to QCP but they sound so horrible that i would rather not have them...when you transfer the MP3 from computer to the phone there is no option to put as ringtone...the only two formats of songs that i have seen work is MP4 and QCP
the QCP sounds very bad and really low quality
the MP4 sounds good but only for 7 or 8 seconds it fits
how can you get a normal sounding 30 second ringtone for this phone from computer?

I noticed you PM'd the other poster... I have the same question.

Bell Mobility seems to be limiting the size of a WAP download to ~64kb and I don't wish to buy ringtones from them. I've managed to transfer my MP4 file to the phone and can play it in Media Player but the memory of the A900 is split into the Mass Storage area (~50Mb) and the download section (~11Mb).

Interestingly, if you transfer a vCard file to the phone, it recognizes the .vcf extension on the file and inserts it into the phonebook.

Any ideas?

I am an itunes user, and I heard itunes songs cant be used for the a900. Is there anyway I can convert my itunes songs to mp3 to put on my a900, but still have them in itunes format to play on my computer? (sounds kinda confusing, but all the itunes users out there more than likely know how tempermental itunes can be and where im coming from)

PLease I need the same information too.... Need some mp3 ... and other thing is that when I connect my phone via Bluetooth with another (like razor) I can tranfer the files, but can't open or hear then ... tHANK YOU - dAVID.

-plug in ur phone
-get all the neccesary drivers installed
-MENU--TOOLS--MASS STORAGE--CONNECT TO PC
-wait till ur comp reads the phone (i folder will pop up)
-put MP3's in the "MUSIC" folder

i'm making a sticky thread telling all how to put mp3's as ringtones on your a900's. I have tried it and it works. So look for the sticky.

Its a process but it can be done. You can use wave pad to edit the ringer, then use mptrim to make it louder (cuz on the A900 the custom ringers are not that loud), and Then finally use dBpowerAMP Music Converter to cut down the file to not use up the memory. its complicated but you dont have to buy or download your ringers just to have loud ones. If you want me to make one so you can see how it sounds just let me know aight. holla

Is that for Ringtones, cause on my i870 thats just for the media player. i870 ringtones have to be uploaded to the phone with webjal. Is this not the case with the A900?
